ZERUST® AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR

Yes. However, as it is used, AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR will lose strength. The time taken to remove rust from equitably corroded surfaces will become progressively longer. For example, at ~ 50% depletion, the rust removal time will increase by 30%—40% from the original rate when the solution is fresh. The pH of the solution can be monitored, and when it reaches 7.5, the solution needs to be dumped and replaced with a fresh solution.

Yes, warmer temperatures will improve rust removal capabilities. Additionally, fluid circulation, part agitation, and mechanical abrasion will help speed up the rust removal process.

Some parts may be susceptible to flash-rust following the rust removal process. For optimal results, a suitable ZERUST® Axxatec™ water-based rust inhibitor (e.g., Axxatec™ DA-23C, 30C, etc.) can be applied to the metal surface after rinsing. Additionally, you may apply a suitable ZERUST® Axxanol™ oil or solvent-based rust preventative (e.g., Axxanol™ A35CD-32, 33CD, Spray-G, etc.) to the metal surface after rinsing and thoroughly drying the parts. Lastly, you may also place the parts inside any ZERUST® VCI packaging (e.g., ZERUST® ICT®510-C, ICT®520-HS, ICT®420, etc.), plain plastic packaging, or container after rinsing and thoroughly drying. Test before using any other types of non-ZERUST® VCI packaging.

Yes, after thoroughly drying the part with filtered compressed air, air knife, heated blow-off, or forced air oven, a suitable ZERUST® Axxanol™ oil or solvent-based rust preventative (e.g., Axxanol™ A35CD-32, 33CD, Spray-G, etc.) can be applied to the metal surface. Please note AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR must be rinsed from the part surface with DI/RO water, or for optimal results, rinse with a 5% solution of ZERUST® AxxaVis™ HST-10 and dry thoroughly before any oil or solvent-based rust preventative is applied. It is always recommended that a compatibility test is performed before combining AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR with any non-ZERUST® rust preventative oil, solvent, or water-based inhibitor.

Yes, after rinsing the part’s surface with DI/RO water, or for optimal results, with a 5% solution of ZERUST® AxxaVis™ HST-10, a suitable ZERUST® Axxatec™ water-based rust inhibitor (e.g., Axxatec™ DA-23C, 30C, etc.) can be applied to the metal surface. It is always recommended that a compatibility test is performed before combining AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR with any non-ZERUST® rust preventative oil, solvent, or water-based inhibitor.

AxxaClean™ ICT®625-RR must be rinsed from the surface with DI/RO water, or for optimal results, rinse with a 5% solution of ZERUST® AxxaVis™ HST-10.

Parts not fully immersed may occasionally experience darkening at the liquid-air interface due to increased surface activity. Additionally, parts soaked longer than 24 hours may experience appearance changes due to carbon residue from the rust removal process that may be visible around grain boundaries and oxide inclusions.
