ZERUST® ActivLink™ M-10

ActivLink™ M-10 is a dual-action solution designed for container moisture control for metal parts during shipping and storage. It combines moisture-absorbing desiccant technology with Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI) to prevent rust and corrosion inside enclosed shipping containers.

Once installed inside a shipping container, ActivLink™ M-10 absorbs excess moisture while simultaneously releasing VCI molecules into the enclosed space. These molecules form an invisible, protective layer on exposed metal surfaces that inhibits corrosion. When the container is opened, the VCI layer dissipates naturally, leaving parts clean and ready for use.

ActivLink™ M-10 is designed to protect ferrous metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and silicon steel. Additional formulations may be available for multimetal protection depending on application requirements.

For optimal performance, ActivLink™ M-10 should be suspended near the ceiling of the container, evenly distributed across the width. This placement allows for effective container moisture control for metal parts and uniform VCI diffusion throughout the enclosed space.

Each 10-foot (3-meter) string of ActivLink™ M-10 can protect up to approximately 795 ft³^‡ (22.5 m³^‡) of enclosed space under normal environmental* conditions. Proper distribution is recommended to ensure consistent protection throughout the container.

ActivLink™ M-10 provides corrosion and moisture protection for up to 12 months^‡ when used in a sealed or well-contained environment. Factors such as humidity levels, airflow, and container conditions may affect performance duration.

Yes. While shipping containers are not fully airtight, ActivLink™ M-10 is designed to perform effectively in these environments. However, minimizing airflow by keeping container doors closed as much as possible will improve protection performance.

No. The VCI layer formed by ActivLink™ M-10 is dry, invisible, and leaves no residue. Once removed from the container, metal parts can be immediately painted, welded, or processed without additional cleaning.
