Barb Nygaard dedicated more than 45 years to Northern Technologies International Corporation (NTIC), leaving a lasting impact on the corrosion protection industry and the advancement of ZERUST® solutions worldwide.

Throughout her career, Barb was instrumental in pioneering Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) technology and advancing its application across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, oil and gas, and infrastructure. Her work helped establish industry standards for corrosion prevention and contributed to the development of multiple patented technologies that continue to shape best practices today.

Barb worked closely with engineers, manufacturers, and global partners to solve complex corrosion challenges, developing customized solutions designed to protect metal assets during production, storage, and shipment. Her deep technical expertise and hands-on approach enabled organizations to improve reliability, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce costly maintenance and downtime.

In addition to her technical contributions, Barb played a key leadership role within NTIC, helping to expand ZERUST® corrosion prevention technologies into international markets and ensuring consistent quality and performance across diverse applications and environments.
