Environmental And Safety Information

Continuous research and testing of Zerust® polyethylene corrosion inhibiting film systems is carried out in our laboratories around the world. This effort is undertaken to ensure that our customers will receive the most efficacious, safe, and environmentally benign products possible.

One indication of the safety of Zerust® films is a letter from the United States Food and Drug Administration that allows its use for protecting empty metal food cans prior to filling. Another indication is the laboratory studies, which were carried out by an independent European research organization and reviewed by the German Cancer Institute. The German Cancer Institute had no objection to the use of Zerust® corrosion inhibiting products in German factories at the conclusion of the study.

Specific test reports and recommendations are available upon request.

Recycling Information
Zerust® polyethylene films and most Zerust® paper products are recyclable. Zerust® polyethylene corrosion inhibiting film has been recycled for years in several countries into non-Zerust® products (post consumer products). Recycling is the preferred disposal method. This process impacts the environment less than alternative methods. Zerust® products are only made using virgin materials to assure our customers that the level of quality is consistent and as high as possible. Zerust® corrosion inhibiting film can also be disposed of in approved landfills or burned in approved incinerators. Please consult federal, state and local regulations. For recycling information on other Zerust® products, please consult product literature or contact a customer service representative at 763-225-6600.
