P R O D U C T  I N F O R M A T I O N

Zerust® Axxaclean 2048 is a fast acting and non-toxic rust and tarnish remover. It rapidly removes light to medium rust even in cracks and crevices. Zerust® Axxaclean 2048 can be used for ferrous metals, brass, copper and various alloys. Cleaned parts are free of gray or black carbon residue. Parts damaged from the rusting process may have surface roughness, but scale and rust will be gone.

Corrosion Protection

Surfaces treated with Zerust® Axxaclean 2048 are protected from flash-rust or retarnishing for several days in a controlled environment. For corrosion prone metals like cast iron, use RPs such as Z-Maxx, Axxanol or Axxatec products. Zerust® VCI packaging films and papers should be used for long-term protection of parts.

Easy-to-Use and Safe 

No special equipment is needed to use this product. A post-treatment rinse with deionized water and then blow-drying with compressed air is recommended. Otherwise, rinse with tap water and wipe completely dry with a clean cloth. Use as recommended for optimum corrosion protection. Axxaclean 2048 has a pH of 2.5 similar to a soda drink—making it simple to use and minimizing disposal hassles.

Zerust® Axxaclean 2048 comes in multiple delivery forms: Immersion, Spray-On, and Brush-On.

CORROSION PROTECTION FOR :
 
 
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
 IMMERSION APPLICATION PRODUCT
  1. Use wire brush or high pressure water blast to remove loose scale if present.
  2. Pour Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 into a plastic glass, or big stainless steel container to fully cover corroded parts.
  3. Soak the rusted parts in Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 for about 5 minutes for light rust, about 15 minutes for medium rust and longer for heavier rust (soak time vary with degree of rust or tarnish).
  4. Agitate to ensure that fresh chemistry is in contact with the metal surfaces regularly.
  5. Rinse the part with de-ionized water (optional but recommended) and inspect.
  6. Wipe with clean dry cloth for faster more complete drying.
  7. Blow dry to assure moisture is removed from crevices and cavities.
  8. Parts can now be preserved from further corrosion with paint, or package the parts in Zerust® packaging products for shipment and/or storage, or use Zerust® surface coatings if the bare metal is to be exposed to outdoor elements for weeks or months (under shelter and normal ambient conditions).

SPRAY-ON APPLICATION PRODUCT

  1. Use wire brush to remove loose scale if present.
  2. Spray Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 to cover and wet areas of rust completely.
  3. Leave Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 on for several minutes for light rust—longer for medium or heavier rust.  More than 1 application may be necessary.
  4. Wipe parts off with clean dry cloth.  Optional but recommended: rinse with de-ionized water and inspect.
  5. Blow dry to assure no moisture is trapped in crevices and cavities.
  6. Package parts in Zerust® packaging products for shipment and/or storage, or use Zerust® surface coatings if the part is to be used with bare metal exposed to outdoor elements for weeks or months (under shelter and normal ambient conditions).

  1.  Use wire brush to remove loose scale if present completely.
  2. Spray Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 to cover and wet areas of rust completely.
  3. Leave Zerust® Axxaclean™ 2048 for several minutes for light rust and—longer for medium rust to heavier rust.
  4. Using the included polish sponge, rub the rusted area to remove rust.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4, if needed.
  6. Wipe parts off with clean dry cloth.  Optional but recommended: rinse parts with de-ionized water.
  7. Blow dry to assure no moisture is trapped in crevices and cavities.
  8. Package parts in Zerust® packaging products for shipment and/or storage, or use Zerust® surface coatings if the part is to be used with bare metal exposed to outdoor elements for weeks or months (under shelter and normal conditions).
